Freehold Township operates 3 commuter parking facilities. The first is located in the Freehold Mall on Route 9 North. Lots 2 and 3 are located at Schibanoff Road on Route 9 North and South. Parking permits are limited to Freehold Township residents only.
A portion of the Schibanoff Road South lot has been set aside for daily commuters. Permits are $5 daily for Freehold Township residents only, upon submission of a valid driver's license showing your Township address.
The annual fee for parking permits is $150 and residents need to fill out an application and return it to the Clerk's Office. The application must be accompanied by proof of Township residency and a copy of the commuter's driver's license showing the commuter's Freehold Township address and registration. The signature of the commuter must appear on the application form stating that they are using the permit and will not allow anyone other than their spouse or child living in the same household to use the permit. Violations are punishable by a fine of up to $1,250 or imprisonment. The permit itself is a hangtag that can be transferred between cars at the same household.
Permits are valid from February 1st through January 31st of each year. Permits are renewed by current permit holders during the month of January. If the permit holder changes his/her residency to a location outside of Freehold Township, the parking permit is no longer valid and must be surrendered to the Township Clerk's Office within 2 weeks.
Please call the Township Clerk's Office at 732-294-2010 for information on the availability of parking spaces.
